Disney has just dropped the trailer for the latest live-action adaption of one of their timeless stories. In fact, it’s the film that started it all the “Mouse House” – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this time just called “Snow White” and starring Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) in the title role and Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen.
Snow White is from the producer and executive producer of “Wicked,” Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, and director Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) comes “Disney’s Snow White,” a live-action musical reimagining of the studio’s classic 1937 film.
The new trailer does showcase the scale and beauty of the lavish production design, however, it’s the odd choice of design for the beloved characters of the dwarfs (Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy) that has people a little creeped out. The CG look of the characters has divided fans.
The trailer also gives us a first look at the power ballad Waiting on a Wish, one of the all-new original songs from EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“The Greatest Showman”).
Snow White is set to hit cinemas in March of 2025 and it will be a movie that we’ll be eager to see how they intend to adapt an animated film that is widely considered a perfect film.
