Power restored after unplanned Bombala outage

Power has been restored to around 250 homes in the Bombala and Delegate Region in South East NSW.

Essential Energy crews responded to the unplanned power outage after network protection equipment activated and a fault was detected on the high-voltage network at 8.30pm on Tuesday (February 13).

It was not a simple operation with efforts to find the fault taking some time, with a helicopter being deployed to the area on Wednesday morning to assist crews patrolling the network find the fault.

Some homes were without power for more than 20 hours with crews discovering a broken cross arm from recent storm activity as the cause of the outage, getting all power restored by 6:30 last night.
