A North Batemans Bay man has been banned from entering all Bunnings Warehouse outlets after pleading guilty to stealing almost $5000 worth of goods from the local store.
Batemans Bay Local Court was told the 51-year-old rorted the hardware retailers Power Pass Self-Checkout App on nine separate occasions mid last year.
The court heard Haigh committed the offences over a four-week period.
Haigh initially denied not scanning items when first approached by police including 85 litres of paint and Makita power tools but later pled guilty.
Solicitor Samantha Henry yesterday asked the court to instead give her client a Community Corrections Order despite initially denying the offences, pointing to financial stress being experienced at the time.
Magistrate Dick rejected the request to not record a conviction against him.
In sentencing, he told the carpenter in a small community word would get out.
Haigh was ordered to repay the money to Bunnings, perform 200 hours of community service and was placed on a 12-month Good Behaviour Bond.
He was also instructed to walk next door to the police station to have his fingerprints and an updated photo taken for their records.
