Racers will tackle three tracks while the rest of the network remains open for exploration and shuttling.

Since opening, the riding community has showered the Narooma Mountain Bike Club with positive feedback, recognising the trails as a major asset to the growing mountain bike scene on the Far South Coast.

Eurobodalla Shire Mayor, Mathew Hatcher, expressed his enthusiastic support for this weekend’s Rocky Trail Fox Superflow series.

“The excitement keeps rolling for mountain biking in the Eurobodalla,” Mayor Hatcher said.

“We’re thrilled to see an event showcase the new Narooma trails so soon after opening – this will be a great taste-tester event for businesses and the community to get a feel of this type of tourism.”

Upcoming local mountain biking events don’t stop there with the Tathra Mountain Biking Festival happening on the June long weekend, the new Gravity Eden trails will host the Quad-Crown Series, as the only NSW leg, in September and the new trails in Mogo which are yet to open, will host one of the biggest cycling events in the world.

The world’s largest cycling festival brand, Sea Otter, coming to the Eurobodalla will coincide with the launch of the new Mogo Mountain Bike trails in 2025.

Rocky Trail Entertainment will work closely with the South Coast Community to ensure the Sea Otter Cycling Festival, fosters inclusivity and benefits the region for years to come.

Mayor Hatcher said there would be racing, riding, a tradeshow and entertainment all in and around the Mogo Trails on the South Coast in October next year.

“Mountain biking is taking off in Mogo, Narooma, Tathra and Eden, so these events are great for the whole region not just the Eurobodalla,” Mayor Hatcher said.

“We’re expecting 4,000 to 6,000 people to come into the region, around the time of the Sea Otter event, so that’s a great off-peak period and it’s going to mean a huge flow-on effect into Narooma and mountain biking there, and down into the Bega Valley as well.”

“We’re excited about becoming a world-class region, for people who want to travel from all over the world to come here and see our beautiful land but also have fun on our trails.”

Mountain bike riders are claiming the Far South Coast is the state’s new “Mountain Biking Mecca”.

CEO of Bicycle NSW Peter McLean told East Coast Radio mountain biking tourism will only continue to grow in the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla over the next few years.

“It’s already seen huge growth and looks set to play a key role in a tourism boom in the South East of NSW,” McLean said.
