While more than 300,000 people are without power in Victoria after Tuesday’s storms pulled down power lines, closer to home, 242 homes in the Bombala and Delegate region in the South East of NSW have been without electricty for more than 12 hours.

Essential Energy crews are responding to the unplanned power outage after network protection equipment activated at 8.30pm on Tuesday (February 13) and a fault was detected on the high-voltage network.

“Crews were dispatched immediately but unfortunately could not find the fault and therefore customers were without power overnight,” an Essential Energy spokesperson said.

Efforts to find the fault have resumed early this morning with a helicopter being deployed to the area to assist crews patrolling the network.

An Essential Energy spokesperson told East Coast Radio an estimated time of restoration cannot be provided as the fault hasn’t yet been found.

“Essential Energy apologises for any inconvenience caused by the power outage and thanks customers for their patience.”
