A skydiver on the South Coast has been rescued after getting stranded 40 metres up a tree near Moruya Airport.
The man who found himself upside in a tree after his skydive on the morning of Tuesday October 15th, managed to manoeuvre into a stable position before an arborist from the skydiving company attached ropes that allowed Fire and Rescue crews to access the man and safely lower him to the ground.
The operation took more than two and a half hours and involved personnel from Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, the State Emergency Service and the NSW Rural Fire Service.
The man escaped the ordeal without injury.
The incident comes two months after a 48-year-old man died in a skydiving accident at Moruya.
