Emergency Services have been called to a vehicle fire on the South Coast this morning (Monday July 17).
A male driver told fire crews the cabin of his van filled with smoke before he pulled over and the van caught alight.
The northbound lane of the Princes Highway at Quaama, between Cobargo and Brogo, was blocked for over an hour from around 10am on Monday when the incident occurred.
Rural Fire Service crew members discovered the van fully engulfed in flames on the highway upon arrival but “luckily no one was inside”.
The fire spread to nearby grass but crews had the blaze extinguished within around half an hour.
Traffic control was in place for around 90 minutes.
Investigations into the cause of the blaze are ongoing.
